Spitz is releasing its first best album this December.
A lot of Spitz fans protested after the news was out. It is because this is not a Spitz's idea at all. As Kusano san said," This is not what our members want." (Well, I think what Kusano san said will probably adversely affect the sale of this album.) (^^;) Also, Spitz does not look like a band that would release a best album. After all, it is because of the contract. On the whole, "kore wa Spitz rashiku nai!" (It doesn't sound like Spitz!)
To me, I am disappointed. However, I am disappointed not because they are releasing a best album, but the album coming out is not an original album. According to the song lists I read from the news, this album looks like a single collection more than a real "best" album. They do not seem planning to add one or two new songs into it. This is what my disappointment means!!
Since it has been decided, we, as Spitz's fans, can't do much about it anyway. Thus, why don't we take another point of veiw to look at this best album? To most Spitz's fans, the best album doesn't mean much to them, as they probably have all Spitz's CDs. Nevertheless, this album may create a chance for other audience to know about Spitz all over again. After all, Spitz have not become big until they released "Robinson". I am quite sure that a lot of people are not familiar with Spitz's good old songs. Particularly to foreign fans, like me, who cannot access to Japanese music as easy as people living in Japan do, this album is a good chance to introduce Spitz to them. In my opinion, it is always more important to introduce Spitz to other people. (Well, I understand why the fans get mad, since the company cares about nothing but makes money.) In addition, this one is still a good album, since all the tracks are Spitz's songs.
To
all Spitz fans: Don't protest! Don't complaint! We'll see.
