          As a Bcomm person....

Before we start, I just want to tell you that the Spitz's picture at the background has nothing to do with the topic I am going to talk about now. I just get tired of the old one. (^^;) By the way, I think this picture is taken before they debuted.

I got a part-time job last week. Although my title is "bilingual assistant", I found myself look more like a tutor so far. Part of my job is to spend four hours a week to help elementary and junior high school kids' homework. Most of them are grade seven.

After taking this job, I started wondering if I am qualified to be called a university student. I found, very often, I am unable to answer the kid's questions.

"I need to find examples for bacteria and fungi. Do you know any of them?"
"Can you help me out on this question about probablity?"
"What does an earthworm breathe with?"
"Can you find the answers for me?" ( The kid showed me a drawing map that I had no idea where it is )

          What the hell is that?

No matter what kind of questions they asked (Science, Math, geography, biology...), I just can't anwer them. In fact, those questions all look familar to me, but I can't provide the answers for those kids.

What is my bcomm degree for? Is it for celebrating myself for learning nothing after I spent four years in the university?

When I was a kid, I thought a person who graduated from a university knows everything. After all these years, I believe that I may not be able to answer those kids' questions even if I got a few more degree. Of course, it all depends on what kind of degree I get.  As a Bcomm person, I think I have to work much harder on my education in order to become a really well-educated person.
