To me, "cool" means something unusual. To some people, my meaning of "cool" means "nuts".
I always prefer something/someone "cool" to pretty orcute.
One of the examples is my preference to visual rockbands. I think guys putting make-up on is "cool". I don't mean the type such as the early years of X-Japan. To me, that goes too far. I like visual bands whose members spend at least two hours to put make-up on, and dress up in a "wierd" fashion. Thus, I like Glay's Jiro and Hisashi. I think they are some of the coolest men I've ever seen. They are cool because they look good with heavy make-up on. They are cool because they look totally different when they have no make-up on. They are cool because they can dress the way I can't. They are cool because they play cool music on stage.
Since cool=unusual in my dictionary, I always try to do something different from other people.
Since I don't want to graduate in the university without experiencing something exciting, I took a year off and went to Japan.
Since I don't want to get a part-time job which relates to my major, I became a bilingual assitant in XXX. (Actually, this is the only job I can get.)
Since I don't like dressing as a "normal" person, I often put on "wierd" T-shirt and jean and make myself look like an elementary school kid.
I
found myself not "cool", but "dump".
