Whenever I suggest Mr. J listen to L'Arc~en~ciel's CDs, he will give me an awlful look.
Why? What's wrong with them? They play good music! They are one of the most creative bands in Japan. From their debut single "Blurry Eyes" to their latest single "Driver's High", you can see they have been undergoing changes and ( I think ) they are making different experiments in order to make their music more diversified. L'Arc~en~ciel's music makes Japanese pop/rock music more interesting.
In my opinion, the vocalist Hyde's image represents the whole band. Hyde doesn't look like a Japanese guy. When you take a look at his big eyes, you may think that he is half-Japanese and half-white. Particularly when their music was closed to European dark pop sound at the earlier stage ( read it from somewhere ), Hyde's non-Japanese image, or his look in nature, fitted the style of their music perfectly. However, he really blows me off when he talks with Kansai dialect on TV. ( something such as "sonna ni urehen towa omowanakatta." ) (>_<)
Mr.
J: Try to listen to them!!!
