I finally got my sister to go to the Mattew Good Band's live with me. (But I don't know why the hack my mom came with us?)
Since this live performace was free for everyone, there was no doubt that there would be a lot of people. I was there only half hour early, and at that time the ground were already packed with people. The live started at 8:30 pm. The vocalist, Matt, came out with a cowboy look, and every one screamed. Because of my small size, I really had a hard time to see the stage. In fact, I even had a hard time to see the roof of the stage. Fortunately, I still got a chance to see all the members' heads (not as a whole, but seperately).
Generally speaking, I think most of the audience were not familiar with Mattew Good Band's songs (i.e. I am one of them), although they all know that they are pretty big in Canada now. During the whole one and a half hour live, there were very few moments that audience were singing along with the band. Even worse, most of the audience in the front were not really watching the performance. Most of them were badly drunk and fooling around. I could easily tell that these people were not even listening to the music.
Mattew Good Band sang more ballads than I thought, and I believed this really made it difficult for them to bring the excitement to the audience. Thanks for the drunk people who had already hypered before the live started, in general the whole performance was filled with so-called joy and fun most of the time.
Some chicks in the middle were standing on "something" (i.e. might be a garbage can or a rock....I donn know) while watching the performance, and they blocked about half of the sight of the audience at the back. In order to make these chicks get down (or fell off), some people at the back threw pennies, water bottles and even garbage to them. Unfortunately, despite knowing the fact that they were hated and cursed by hundreds of people, these chicks refused to get down. At first, I was planning to pick up some trash (the garbage can was right in front of me) and threw things to these bitches, I abandoned the idea as my mom stood right behind me. (^^;) As a result, the audience at the back continually cursed and threw things to these chicks, and My view was continually blocked by these bitches for the rest of the performance.
In the first hour of the live, Matt played the so-called "survivial burn" twice. What he actually did was to burn an animal doll. He burnt a "pig" at the first time and a "bear" at the second time, praying for people who aimed for getting a bear in the sideroad games. (^^;)
On the whole, except badly drunk teens, it was really difficult for people to "survive" in such a concert. People would find a hard time to find a place to stand and breathe. It was particularly true when more and more people squeezed into the crowd during the concert. I was particularly pissed when a couple of giant (or stupid) guys stood right in front of me who indeed chatted to each other most of the time.
In
conclusion, I am not able to enjoy a free concert like this one. (>_<)
