Today is Sunday, but I still need to work. Well, I simply came to the centre and that's it. I really don't know what's the meaning to be in the office on Sunday, since the people in other division are off today and I am not assigned any tasks to do at all. It may be nice since I can update my homepage.....

        000916

It's been a month since I announced 'Hachimitsu House Reopen'. I am sorry that I didn't keep my promise. I have been receiving some complaints (mainly friends') that the diary has not been updated. Actually, I have been busy with my work. (editing the newsletter called 'Akura': Read it!!!, translating, taking care of the homestay program, preparing for the Ai Festival: Please come!!! etc....) I have been having a very boring life after I came back from Kyushu. Since I still don't have friends in Okayama, I didn't go out very often.

One more thing, my nice sister "Princess Ophelia" has not been delivering my messages (from email) to my mom. What kind of a service is that??????

        000915

        Raining, raining, raining......god.....

        000914

(I think) due to the humidity in Japan, my hair (of anywhere of my body) has been growing at a abnormally fast speed.

        000818

Did I tell you that I am going to work by bicycle in Japan? Don't think that this is no big deal. To me, this is one of the most difficult tasks in my life that I need to do everyday.  For a person like me who has ridden on a bicycle since elementary school, it is very stressful. I need to protect myself but at the same time I have to make sure not injure other people. What I found in Japan is that not many people pay attention to bicycle bells. This really pisses me off.....

        000814

Ms. J and I went to the Space World. Hahahahaha.....it was fun. It is smaller than the Disney World but I personally enjoyed the rides very much. It is just too bad that we could stay there for only a few hours. I really like Fukuoka and I think I will
        go there again someday.

        000813

How come my ice-cream melted at an abnormally fast speed????

        000812

Three of my friends in Canada and I gathered at the Hakata Station at about 11:30 am. This is incredable when you think about it. I actually met my Canadian friends in Japan!
We all came to Japan at different times with different reasons, but we met in Japan now. This is one of my amazing experiences I've ever had in my life. We all went to Canal City. Believe it or not, we spent about 3 hours to shop at the basement only.
It is because all the girls went crazy when we saw the shops selling Japanese decorations. Poor Mr. C could only wait and wait and wait.......

        000811

        Heading to Fukuoka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        000805

I took a day off and went to Hiroshima to visit my friend today. We went to see a Japanese professional baseball game. Believe it or not, this was my first time seeing a baseball game. It was fun!!!!! I just yelled and screamed for Carps, although I
had no idea who the hack they were. (^^;)

Yesterday I found that I couldn't using my new bank card and so I went to the bank and asked what's going on. As I predicted, the people in the bank screwed up my password. I was pissed as the girl in the bank implied that my writing ought be ugly
and that's why the password was screwed up. Wait a minute! Whenever comes to serious thing such as financial documents, I swear I always write as prettily as I can. I've checked the password at least two or three times before I handed in, and so
there is no way that people still screwed up. Another stupid thing is that it will take another week to send me a new bank card......god......

        000724

I went to Muji and picked up some paper boxes. So far I've already bought a lot of things, but it is still way under 100,000 yen. I think it is a wise decision not to buy my predecessors' dirty stuff. By the way, seriously, she is a very dirty person......She left me a dirty washing machine, a dirty kitchen, a bunch of her dirty clothes, and a bunch of garbage....what kind of human being is she?

        000721

        My cooler suddenly fell off!!!!!!

        000720

        My cooler is leaking.....

        000719

I arrived in Okayama. The supervisor brought me to see everyone in the City Hall.

        000717 - 18

We had a very tight schedule. Although most of the JETs went out in the evening, I prefered staying in the hotel and watching Smap x Smap....

        000716

I was waiting for 2 and a half hours to go through the customs in the Narita airport. Saiaku.....

        000715

Right now I am in the Canadian executive lounge in Vancuvour airport and writing this message.
I have to wait for one more hour to depart for Tokyo. The rest of the JET members who are going to take the same flight with me are currently chatting about Japan (anything). The lounge provides all kinds of beverages, some cup noodles, cookies and other snacks........This is what business class is like......
Believe or not, I have been waiting for my flight for seven hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

        000712

I am leaving tomorrow. Actually, "Hachimitsu House" has been open for less than a year, but it seemed it has been here longer than that. Although I will not be able to update "Hachimitsu House" as easily and frequently as I am doing it in Canada, please continue to show your support to this homepage.

Last night, Mr. J, Ophelia and I went out to see "The Scary Movie". It was not only "scary", but also stupid, dirty, dump, funny, awful...... One of the saddest thing leaving Canada is probably that I can't see these two people. Although they sometimes pissed me off (or I often pissed them off), they are the ones whom I often talked to when I was pissed (by other people). I don't know if they think the same way as I do though .......

        000711

        Packing, packing, packing.....

Very nervous, very nervous, very nervous.....

        000707

Ophelia finally got a job. Ometedo!!!!!! Although she hadn't got a job until now, she will start to work earlier than I......

I've just come back from Mattrew Good Band's live. My lesson of today is: Never let your parent go to a concert with you.

        000705

I can't believe that I am departing Canada for Japan within a week.....

        000704

The travel agency mixed up the JET participants' addresses and names and I haven't received any correspondences from the travel agents. I can't believe that they could do something like that.....

        000702

        It's hot.....

        000701

        Happy Canada Day!!!!!!

        000629

Today I forgot there was no water supply in our building between 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. When I woke up this morning, it's already 10:00 am. Since I couldn't fresh up anyway, I went to bed again and I didn't wake up until 1:30 pm.....

        000628

I watched the English dubbed version of "Patlabour The Movie 1" today. Actually, I've seen it at least ten times, including the English, Chinese and Japanese version. It is a very good movie, and the English dubbed version is not bad at all.

        000627

Ophelia almost passed out in the restaurant today. She scared the hell out of me.....

        000626

What a miracle!!!! A Hi-fi system which has been broken and left in the store room for 3 years was automatically fixed!!! Actually, today Ophelia took it out and planned to keep the speakers and threw away the rest of the parts. We have never fixed (not even tried to fix) it and we announced it "dead" 3 years ago, but it suddenly came back to life.

        000624

Today we went to "IKXXA" to check out some furniture. Actually, we went there because I need to start brainstorming some ideas to furnish my apartment in Japan. I also ended up buying an alarm clock there. In fact, I don't think I need to buy a new alarm clock at all, since we have plenty of them at home. However, my "nice" mom doesn't let me bring any of them to Japan.

Now I have another thing to worry, which is: I wonder if my predecessor will cut off my telephone line since she is mad at me for not buying her stuff.....

        000623

Princess Ophelia finally decided to update her homepage. I gave her opinion about the layout and designs of the mainpage, and her homepage ended up looking like a business website. I hope that 3.50megs.com makes no mistake that her homepage is not for business use. (^^;)

        000619

I am on diet now, but I have been eating quite a bit for the past two days. The weather sucks......

        000618

I picked up a lot of souvenirs today. They cost me a fortune....

        000616

I got a new pair of glasses today. The weather sucks.....

        000614

I've just come back from the convocation and I am very tired. Mr. J kept complaining that there is a problem with his hat. In fact, his hat is totally fine. He just doesn't look good with his hat on. Ophelia was graduated with distinction but she almost left half way through the announcer calling her name. What an idiot....
I got up and down the stage pretty quick. I believe that the longer I stayed on the stage, the greater chance that I would do something stupid.  I don't want my stupid act being recorded into someone's video tape which might be sent to the 'Funniest Home Video'.

My dad was so happy last night that he gave us quite a bit of money. I am planning to use it to get furniture in Japan.

        000608

The former CIR who is now living in my apartment in Japan is moving out. (Then I will move in in July.) She wants to sell me her stuff. However, she is trying to sell me her fourth hand or even fifth hand stuff for 100,000 yen! I think it is too expensive and I am not planning to buy it.  I think she is mad at me now, since she will have a hard time to sell off her stuff to other people. (In fact, if I don't buy her stuff, I have to buy all the necessities when I arrive. It is not such a big deal to me, though.) How should I put that? Since there is a big difference between the price I expected and the price she set, I don't think we can compromise anyway. I am sorry for her being ripped off by her predecessor when she moved in, (she paid her predecessor 120,000 yen) but it doesn't mean that now is your turn to rip me off! I just think since I can buy quite a few brand new stuff as long as I pay a little bit more than 100,000 yen, why should I buy her old stuff at about the same price? It is very ridiculus when she said in her mail, "Since I paid a huge sum of money to my predecessor when I moved in, I want to have some cash back when I move out." Don't forget that I always have the option to decide whether I should buy my predecessor's stuff. Hence, she shouldn't have thought it that way! Now I don't want anything from her even though they are free!

        000605

I am wondering what kind of souvenirs I should bring to Japan......

        000603

I went to the JET orientation today. I am glad that I found another girl who is also going to Okayama. The people there were very excited about the fact that they are going to Japan soon. They seemed not worrying whether they can get used the life in Japan or about their job. (Most of them haven't been to Japan.) Or am I actually worrying too much?

        000602

        The weather sucks....

        To XXXX,

Forget it! I am not gonna pay you 100,000 yen for the fourth or even fifth hand stuff.....
